The ladies and gentlemen of Mount Olympus are seriously pissed about the Xenia violations in Minneapolis
Xenia is the virtue of sacred hospitality. We are dependent upon other people’s hospitality and kindness. There is literally a sacred contract between the host and the guest. Violating that social contract is angering the gods.
If xenia is the law/custom of offering protection and hospitality to strangers, xenophobia is it’s opposite.
They are raging against the treatment of the citizens and the sad loss of life. The Furies (Erinyes) are unleashed and Hera is about as mad as I’ve seen her.
